de Hoornse Distilleerderij is a boutique distillery located in Hoorn, The Netherlands specializing in the production on fine spirits including, "new" genever, "old" genever and gin.
Our branding and graphic design embody a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. Each of the products is brought to life through surreal pen and ink style illustrations of various animals, giving them unique personalities that resonate with each of the various spirits. These illustrations are a nod to the artisanal craftsmanship that defines the distillery, capturing the essence of time-honored techniques and the natural sources of their ingredients.
Complementing these "mascots", we chose a modern typeface from House Industries to add a contemporary touch to our branding. This fusion of old and new creates a distinctive visual identity that speaks to our commitment to quality and innovation. The irreverent typography enhances the classic feel of the drawings while introducing a sleek, modern aesthetic, ensuring that our brand remains timeless and appealing to discerning customers who appreciate both tradition and modernity.
